LAVENDER transplanter

When speaking about lavender our eyes and mind are immediately transported to the wonderful landscapes of Provence.

The endless fields of lilac-coloured shades can be admired in the French region during the summer.

Lavender is a very rustic plant and is known above all by the fair sex for its uses in cosmetics (oils, perfumes, infusions and recently also honey).

It is often also used in wardrobes or in the entrance halls of houses as a natural perfume and has recently been introduced also in food & beverage.

Cutting

The traditional technique used to propagate both the clonal lavender and lavandin is by cutting.
Wood cutting, due to its simplicity of execution, is the only method of interest to lavender growers and the optimal execution period is February to March.

While waiting to be planted, the cuttings can be stored in a cool place, even in cold storage.
Lavender cuttings must be planted in irrigable, rich and well ploughed soil.

Lavender and lavandin go hand in hand with dry, light, alkaline and/or calcareous soils. For a good yield in essential oil and an optimal composition of the latter, the plants require adequate exposure to light.

For this reason, in addition to the fact that they grow like a roundish 1-metre high bush, they are planted quite distant between one row and another (about 180 cm between the rows and 70 cm between the plants).

Suppose you are planning a holiday in Provence during the lavender transplanting period, you will surely come across a field where the coral-red colour of the Checchi & Magli gripper transplanters will stand out.

Checchi & Magli finger transplanter

The ideal machine for this type of cultivation is the FOXDRIVE PLUS finger with 1-row transplanter or even better 3 rows. The maxi boxes are an excellent choice for storing cuttings that need a suitable and large support surface.

The rear ploughshares, in addition to simplifying life in the last ridging phase, are used to cover the plants well and encourage rooting. Finally, there is the important novelty of the double opening hydraulic frame that is already proving successful even among companies that transplant strawberries.

🌿 If you need to transplant plugs, the ideal machine is the WOLF PRO.
It is designed for use on plastic mulch, including biodegradable types, as well as on bare soil. Highly appreciated by farmers for transplanting vegetables—especially by tomato growers—it is also used for planting fruit trees, aromatic herbs, medicinal plants, hemp, and more.

🚿 Moreover, it is the only transplanter in the world equipped with synchronized and localized electric watering.
