Among the optional features available on certain Checchi & Magli, transplanters, the FARMFLEX front roller is one that, once you’ve tried it, you’ll hardly ever want to take off.
FARMFLEX technology stands out for several features that make it particularly well-suited for intensive horticulture.
Positioned at the front of the machine, the roller acts on the soil immediately before the transplanting units: it levels the soil, compacts the surface, and prepares the transplanting bed evenly, ensuring a constant working depth. The semi-hollow structure – neither inflated nor full – allows the rubber to deform with each rotation, adapting to the soil profile and absorbing shocks without transmitting them to the transplanter.
✅ Optimal preparation of the transplant bed: the roller levels and compacts the soil in front of the planting units, improving the quality and uniformity of planting – which is essential for uniform establishment
✅ Precise depth control: the rubber roller adapts to soil irregularities while maintaining a constant working depth, even on uneven surfaces or those with clods
✅ Excellent soil-seedling contact: compaction promotes adhesion between the seedling’s root ball and the surrounding soil, accelerating vegetative growth
✅ Adaptability to all soil types: on light, sandy soils, it ensures excellent load-bearing capacity thanks to its large contact surface; on clay and moist soils, the tire’s self-cleaning properties prevent soil buildup; on erosion-prone soils, the tracks it leaves reduce runoff

✅ Natural self-cleaning: The deformation of the rubber with each rotation causes soil to detach; there is also a scraper that removes any residue from the roller
✅ No punctures, no maintenance: The semi-hollow structure eliminates the risk of punctures typical of inflatable pneumatic rollers
✅ Long service life: The fully closed structure prevents the buildup of dirt, stones, and plant debris inside; the rubber compound is specifically designed for intensive agricultural use and is resistant to stones, silica, and UV rays
✅ Mechanical protection: the rubber’s shock-absorbing effect reduces impacts transferred to the bearings, frame, and transplanting units
✅ Rapid Shift: quick adjustment of plant spacing as standard
✅ Large-diameter roller: 520 mm/20” with widths available based on the number of transplanting rows
The FARMFLEX roller has been tested and validated directly by Checchi & Magli on five models in the lineup:
Il top di gamma per velocità e precisione, ideale per colture con apparato fogliare sviluppato come pomodoro, tabacco, cavoli e finocchi.
Interfila regolabile da min. 45 cm.
Produzione fino a 5.000/7.000 piante/ora per operatore.
The top-of-the-line model for speed and precision, ideal for crops with a well-developed foliage system such as tomatoes, tobacco, cabbage, and fennel.
Adjustable row spacing min. 45 cm.
Production of up to 5,000–7,000 plants per hour per operator.
The ultimate compact transplanting machine, designed for seedlings with conical and pyramidal root balls, even small ones such as radicchio and lettuce.
Row spacing min. 28 cm — ideal for narrow rows, soft soil, slopes, and raised beds.
The queen of transplanters, winner of numerous international awards. A single operator can plant two rows simultaneously. Adjustable row spacing min. 30 cm to max. 50 cm. Ideal for tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, fennel, and onions.
Production capacity of up to 6,000 plants per hour.
A compact version of the DUAL 12 GOLD, with an extremely narrow row spacing ranging from min. 25 cm to max. 30 cm, designed for transplanting lettuce and other crops with closely spaced rows. Lightweight and versatile, it works perfectly even on soft soil and raised beds.
The precision transplanting machine for pressed cubes (3.2 to 5 cm), designed for highly professional use in transplanting lettuce and onions. Adjustable row spacing min. 23 cm; minimum plant spacing min. 5 cm. Output of up to 7,200 plants per hour per row. The FARMFLEX roller is an integral part of the QUBIK’s standard equipment, where it prepares and levels the soil immediately before the furrow-opening plowshares—a combination that ensures precise and consistent planting of the cubes under any conditions.
